Action Week demands:
• Finalize ECCD policy framework and adopt it in the national parliament; • Implement ECCD policy framework and create space for CSO engagement; • Take measures to ensure universal access to Early Childhood Care and Pre-Primary Education; • Recognize ECCD as a right and part of lifelong education in all relevant government policies; • Improve curricula and pedagogy in tune with ECCD; • Take immediate measures to implement ECCD as per NEP -2010 • Take measures to overcome all forms of discrimination and guarantee quality early childhood care and education provision for all; • Increase investment in early childhood care and education and set up the framework for delivery of early childhood programs that include the participation of civil society; • Increase education budgets for ECCD (prior to school) and for significant increase in resources for early primary.Organisations participating:

- Organizing national and sub-national BIG PICTURE events in cooperation with Bangladesh ECD Network (BEN), teacher association and partner NGOs; - Children between of 3 to 8 years will draw picture in big canvas. Celebrities, writers, artists, popular musicians, civil society members, educator, child psychologists, media personnel, Teachers, guardians and parents will participate and draw picture to express solidarity with the demands; - A Memorandum demanding on Early Childhood Care and Education for all children will be handed over to the relevant ministers; - A high level national advocacy seminar/dialogue would be organized to draw attention of policy makers to include at least 83% young children who are out of any support program of ECCD.Where:
BIG Picture events will be arranged in a public place where children along with their parents can join easily i.e. in Schools, Town Hall, Shishu Academy (a place for the children gathering, run by government, where they learn music, art, dance) etc.When:
The GAW event would be organized in central level at Dhaka and in another selected 20 districts across the country. Considering the school timing, the BIG PICTURE preferably can be arranged on 28 April, 2012. As these are weekends, parents will be able to bring their children without hampering their classes. Considering the local situation we are planning to organize the BIG PICTURE event in a suitable time during the week or prior to the week.Who:
Minster of Education, Minister of Primary and Mass Education, State Minister of Primary and Mass Education, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs, renown artists, representatives from other concerned ministries and departments, renowned educationist, researcher, Teacher union leaders, teachers, school management committee representative, local govt. representative, high profile celebrities, popular musicians, artists will be invited to join in the program.Register a School/Organisation assosiated with Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE)
